Gifts For Her: Cheat Sheet

At fabulous, we (naturally) believe that jewellery is the ultimate gift for her this Christmas. Whether it’s an elegant necklace, or a striking stack of bangles, giving jewellery  is the perfect romantic expression. Show your loved one just what they mean to you with a personal and precious gift that can be worn as a reminder of love at all times.

But finding a piece of jewellery that is just right can be tricky, so we’ve put together a list of tips and tricks to help you choose that perfect present…

Cheat #1: Sentiment, or sparkle, or both?

What do you want your gift to say to her? Do you want to tell her just how you feel with a personal token of love, or spoil her rotten with something sparkling and beautiful?

sentimental gifts.jpg

Thomas Sabo Love Bridge from £125, Cherish Lockets from £157, Life’s Journey Bangles from £175

If you’re looking for a sentimental keepsake, an engravable collection such as Love Bridge by Thomas Sabo, which can be inscribed with something unique and meaningful, is the ideal gift. Also consider a gift designed to reflect her personality and experiences, such as a bangle by Life’s Journey, or a Cherish locket by Dower & Hall.

tresor

Tresor Paris necklaces from £20

If you want to dazzle her with a precious piece of luxe, consider elegant and timeless styles that always shine at Christmas, such as these contemporary designs by Tresor Paris.

engels-sabo

Engelsrufer sets from £118, Thomas Sabo Love Coins from £25.95

And there’s no need to compromise when you can have both- choose a gift that’s imbued with meaning and accented with crystal, such as an Engelsrufer locket, or a selection of Love Coins by Thomas Sabo.

Cheat #2: Gold, Rose Gold or Silver?

nl sets.jpg

Nikki Lissoni sets from £86

Probably the most important thing to bear in mind when gifting jewellery is which precious metal she prefers: does she wear gold, rose gold or silver?

If you aren’t sure, think about the jewellery she owns. Also consider her wardrobe: if she prefers cool shades, such as navy and grey, silver is the perfect complementary metal. If she loves warm rusty shades, such as browns, reds and olives, gold is the ideal accent. Rose gold pairs beautifully with chic neutral and pastel shades.

Cheat #3: What’s her style?

twyn-sets

Take What You Need 2 bar sets from £81

To choose a gift that screams her, it’s important to make sure it perfectly suits her style. If you’re having trouble pinning down her look, consider her style icons: does she love the all-out glamour of Hollywood starlets? Or does she prefer the classic elegance of Kate Middleton?

When choosing a design or style, also think about whether she loves:

  • Colour: if she loves all things bold and and bright, look for designs that incorporate vibrant gems and natural stones.
  • Sparkle: if she loves to sparkle, look for crystals and pave.
  • Words: does she like to wear designs with words? What words would mean the most to her? What would she like engraved?

To help you out, we’ve created some ready-made sets to suit every style, such as those above by Take What You Need.

Check out our gift guide for her for more inspiration, and look out for our #fabhints appearing over social in the next weeks!

Bath: Autumn Trends on the High Street!

bath autumn trends.jpg

The girls in the fabulous Bath team are excited that autumn is finally here, with crisp chilly mornings and cosy nights in. To pick up on the season’s trends, they’ve wrapped up warm and visited some of their favourite retailers in the beautiful Southgate shopping centre.

alex and ani all saints.jpg

The first stop was All Saint’s, which featured an array of beautiful knitwear pieces for the upcoming cold weather. The sales assistants reported that chunky knits are a must-have this season: comfortable, practical and fashionable. Layer up with a thick knit and pair with your favourite Alex and Ani bangles stacked high for an cool, casual look.

Debenhams was next on the list- specifically the Nails Inc. bar. The most popular shades this season have been Uptown, a dusky pink, Grosvenor Crescent, a deep aubergine, and Battersea Park, which is Khaki. The Bath girls love these contrasting autumn shades, and think they’d go perfectly with a brightly coloured Charm Club bracelet from the new collection by Thomas Sabo.

The sales assistants let the girls know that warm coats in khaki and berry tones are the perfect outerwear as the weather gets colder. We think that an elegant bangle with matching studs from Life’s Journey, reminding you to follow your own path, is the perfect complement to all of your scenic adventures.
