fabulous at Bath in Fashion 2013

We showed fashionistas what we have to offer them during Bath in Fashion Week 2013. With events going on all around the City we love getting involved every year, and this year we went big!

Bath in Fashion Week got off to a great start for fabulous, we served Bubbly and canapé’s in store and watched the flash mob’s in Southgate Square, there was so much going on.

roland-mouretOn Monday Jo was honoured to be invited to hear visionary designer Roland Mouret being interviewed by Susannah Frankel of Grazia. From the front row Jo heard all about Roland’s inspiration and design process. Roland Mouret curated the Norman Parkinson exhibition which we went to see that night. Roland Mouret loved the moment of privacy captured between Parkinson and his models, and it is this intimacy Roland hopes to achieve with his designs. Jo loved the idea that his designs were created for real women, not just models and designed to give freedom of movement – which led perfectly to the ‘Exhibition of Mouvements De Femmes’ by Norman Parkinson, which we went to see that evening. Champagne flowed and the photographs were exquisite, a pretty fabulous Monday all round!

Thursday was a busy day for us at fabulous, with an event and catwalk to organise and party to attend (I know, poor us!).
elinor-jo-lynFrom 12.30pm, Jo Stroud of fabulous and Lyn Bromley of First Impressions hosted a Styling lunch at Hall & Woodhouse (the first of many – watch this space). We were delighted to welcome over 40 guests to the fabulous lunch and loved talking through this seasons jewellery trends. Lyn gave an insightful talk on styling, wardrobe personalities and how to pick colours, shapes and scales of jewellery to suit you. We also enjoyed a two course lunch with wine, which gave us plenty of time to chat to our fabulous clients and provide one on one advice.

Cut to Thursday evening and we’re at the Assembly rooms getting ready for two catwalk shows featuring fabulous alongside other great brands such as French Connection, Reiss, Phase Eight and Lk Bennett. Once all the preparation was done, we settled down on the front row and joined 600 other guests to watch our Nikki Lissoni, Swarovski and Thomas Sabo jewellery sashes down the catwalk.

We had a great view of the catwalk and were sat just across from Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing! Jaime’s Famous Candy Kitten Store was also showcased on the catwalk with fabulous.jamie-mic

We just had time to pop along to the Ted Baker store for catwalks and cocktails from the amazing team at Circo (a fabulous favourite of ours in Bath) we loved the Summer range from Ted Baker and enjoyed more shopping at the beautiful store.

We ended the week with more bubbly and canapés in store. A huge thanks to everyone who helped out, modelled and came along to beautiful Bath to make it a truly fabulous week, we can’t wait to do it all again next Spring!

New Season Swarovski Jewellery

A beautiful new collection of Swarovski jewellery has arrived here with us, and we truly love it all, with charms, earrings, necklaces and bracelets in an array of bright colours perfect for the Summer and just waiting to be shown off!

Swarovski’s Tropical Paradise collection is inspired by South America with playful charms that are bright and fun with sparkling pave stones and coloured enamel in tone-on-tone shades. The lovable Turtle charm is a charming piece with delicate crystal detailing in stunning shades of green, finished with dangling legs and big eyes! The beautiful Seahorse charm is girly and cute in fuschia with sparkling crystals!

Crystal in blue, purple and green tones have really taken hold of the collection in a variety of different styles. Inspired by water droplets, the delicate and feminine Tonality bracelet features a cascade of pastel coloured crystals and echoes the nature- inspired shapes and colours apparent in all of the new pieces.

tatiana necklace          tatiana drops    tat ring

The Tatiana set is truly stunning with petal shaped crystals in an exclusive Swarovski cut, complete with clear crystal pave detailing. The Tatiana necklace is a glamorous evening accessory, as are the Tatiana drop earrings that follow the bold and chunky trend so popular this season. The Talesia pieces keep it timeless and classic with pear shapes clear crystals, with a long silhouette of crystals in an alternating pattern in stunning drop earrings and a show stopping necklace. All that’s needed now is the perfect occasion to show them off!

tempo green    tempo white   paralll

The Tempo necklace and stud earrings are lovely colourful pieces that can be worn day to day, whilst we love the shape of the Parallele Micro Pendant that will compliment all outfits in Light Azore Crystal.

For all the Swarovski collectors, this season’s collection sees the classic Nirvana style given a twist with the lovely Nirvana Baby Necklace. The Nirvana ring is now available as a miniature clear or light turquoise crystal pendant on a rhodium plated chain!

nirv white    nirvava blue

Feminine and eye-catching shades of pink and fuschia is a key colour for this season’s pieces. Swarovski’s Tyra ring is truly glamorous with a large Light Rose crystal that is delicately decorated with clear crystal pave and Rodhium plated. Whilst the Nirvana Rosaline Ring is the perfect accessory for a splash of c0lour in a light pink crystal.

Tasha and Sensible offer romance and sophistication with filigree hearts and flowers. The Tasha set is stunning in Rose Gold and delicately decorated with crystal pave. The Tasha bracelet includes a dangling heart and key motif, ideal for a romantic gift for Valentines Day!

‘I Do!’ Fabulous Wedding Jewellery

The fabulous team in Leamington have been attending a number of wedding shows over the last month and yesterday they helped to inspire brides- to- be at Mallory Court’s wedding show in Leamington Spa.

Whilst the most important piece of jewellery is of course the wedding ring, accessorising shouldn’t stop there! So here are some top tips from our Wedding Brand Manager and Leamington team to get you started!

  • Wedding jewellery is supposed to compliment your gorgeous dress not over power it. If your dress is very detailed and heavily embroidered, a more understated, lighter piece of jewellery would compliment the dress. For example, Swarovski’s Angelic Necklace (£61) and Earrings (£59.00) would be perfect. Whereas if you have chosen a simple design, a statement necklace or earrings would be fabulous – the more sparkle the better! Swarovski’s Heart studs (£56) are truly romantic!
  • Lots of brides like to match the theme or even a small aspect from the day to their jewellery. This can range from the colours chosen to the flowers and decorations! This is also great for bridesmaid’s presents as they are a beautiful reminder of the day and can be worn after the wedding as well! Thomas Sabo would be perfect for this as there are so many charms to choose from it can be individual to you and your wedding. The Pearl or Rose Quartz Bracelet along with a gorgeous charm would be a perfect reminder of the day. Our favourite charms are the Cubic Zirconia Butterfly charm (£34.95) and the Silver Bridal Shoe Charm (£29.95), which are extremely delicate and feminine.

Pandora’s Chalcedony Set is a very vintage inspired piece, which is great for those who have gone for a classic themed wedding. You can choose from the necklace (390321CA), the ring (190842CA), and earrings (19235118). The stone is an iridescent blue, and is believed to help harmonize your mind, body and soul, and is also great for your ‘something blue’ as the subtle shade isn’t too over powering!

To complete some Hollywood glamour, Thomas Sabo’s timeless Pearl Drop Necklace (£59) and Pearl Charm Bracelet (£29.95) will finish every classic look! The charm bracelet can hold up to three charms, so on your special day you can add something old, something borrowed, and something blue! Simple and affordable!!

  • Do consider whether or not you would wear the jewellery again after your wedding day! It would be a shame if it were never to come out of the box again! The Diamonds and Pearls collection by Hot Diamonds is beautifully elegant and feminine yet can be worn again on special occasions, plus it will always hold those special memories of your wedding day every time you wear it!
  • Take time to notice the neckline of your dress. For example, Diamonfire’s Droplet Necklace (£349) would be perfect with a strapless or off the shoulder dress. However, Swarovski’s Perpetual Necklace (£100) would compliment a V-Neckline more.

  • Don’t be afraid to change your jewellery throughout the day. Many brides consider a classic, traditional look when walking up the aisle but then change to a brighter, sparkly look for the evening. The time of day is important – many brides have preferred a more timeless, graceful style in the day and have then revamped in the evening with a majestic statement piece! For advice on engagement or wedding rings and other bridal jewellery, just pop in-store to have a chat with any of our team, or book an appointment with our ‘fabulous forever’ specialist, to look at rings in more detail.
