Gift Guide for October

Birthstone

Opal is the official birthstone for the month of October and is considered one of the most beautiful of all semi-precious stones thanks to it’s glistening rainbow colours that shine from within the stone. Historically, the Opal was worn for protection and to ward of evil, whereby it was highly regarded for its healing properties. This beautiful gem is regarded as a symbol of hope, purity and faithfulness, making this stone a truly romantic gift. Traditionally, the Opal is also given as a gift to mark a 14th or 18th wedding anniversary. An alternative birthstone for October is Pink Tourmaline, known as the creative ‘Teller Stone’; as it is believed to increase the creative process of its wearer and help distinguish between good and bad. Pink varieties of Tourmaline range in colour from pastel pink to ruby red, a gorgeous and feminine alternative to the classic Opal.

Thomas Sabo’s Freshwater Pearl bracelet is £51.90, and features a gorgeous pink Tourmaline Charm. It has an adjustable love knot from 16.5cm to 22cm for a versatile fit that will fit most wrists, making a beautiful and girly gift for birthdays this month. For jewellery with a more classic look, Nomination’s White Opal with a Sliver Frill charm will add sophistication and vintage style to any Nomination bracelet, whilst the heart shaped White Opal charm is cute and romantic! Spinning jewellery have a large selection of gorgeous Sterling Silver rings that will make a lovely gift this month and feature a stunning pink Tourmaline birthstone ring for £49.00.

Zodiac
Another way to add a personal edge to a birthday this month is by acknowledging a zodiac sign. Someone born between the 23rd September and 22nd October is a Libra, whilst someone born between 23rd October and 21st November is a Scorpio. Pandora, Nomination and Thomas Sabo have a variety of charms featuring the Zodiac signs that make a fun addition to any collection. The Sterling Silver Libra charm from Thomas Sabo depicting the scales is £39.95 and would look great alongside the pink birthstone.

Autumn/Winter
The new season has brought some fabulous new collections from Lola Rose, Swarovski, Pandora and Pure Attraction to name just a few, all crafted to compliment this seasons winter textures and warm autumn colours from orange and honeys, to soft browns and blacks. Lola Rose’s statement pieces in teal, tangerine and blacks are bright and eye-catching and really capture the autumnal palette, whilst Pandora’s newest collection has taken inspiration from the runway and features stunning pieces from rings to earrings that feature a gorgeous Rhodolite garnet, as well as sparkling Black, Red and Purple Murano Glass Charms for a gothic edge. Rose Gold is the perfect complimentary shade this season which can be seen sparkling in Pure Attraction and is the perfect plating for a statement watch from BCBG and ToyWatch.

                                            Romance

New collections from Diamonfire & Pure Attraction

Gorgeous new collections from Diamonfire and Pure Attraction have landed at fabulous, and we are truly in love with both collections already!

Each designer offers something unique in their jewellery designs and both collections were a real staff and customer favourite as they sparkled along the catwalk at our recent ‘Girls Night Out’ fashion shows.

Diamonfire

Diamonfire, with the motto: ‘Inspired by Diamonds’, was founded in Germany with the intention to create a fashion forward collection that is ‘as close as possible to diamond jewellery’. This stylish collection blends exclusivity and affordability through the finesse and quality of the whole collection. If you like Swarovski and Fiorelli, love diamonds or simply want to sparkle this season, then this collection is for you.

Diamonfire present a unique blend of glamour and sophistication in a premium jewellery range without the elevated price tag or security risk that comes with real diamonds. Each piece in the collection features sparkling cubic zirconia stones that are hand-cut and faceted to reflect the attributes of a true diamond. To give the jewellery longevity and durability, the settings of Sterling Silver are plated with layers of Rhodium and Platinum to create a tarnish-resistant surface.

The trend for all things embellished continues this season and Diamonfire’s glistening rings, earrings and necklaces will compliment this perfectly. The elegance of the collection makes Diamonfire jewellery the perfect bridal accessory, and a beautiful alternative design for engagement rings.

Pure Attraction

The Pure Attraction range from Ntinga was founded in Italy and is set to be hugely popular this season with its Mesh design. Each piece in the collection features stunning Sterling Silver that has been cleverly woven into a supple Mesh before it is plated with Yellow or Rose Gold. The jewellery also comes in oxidised black and silver that compliments the gold colours perfectly, as well as three different thicknesses, making these bracelets perfect for stacking together. The Rose Gold pieces are particular favourites here at fabulous as they are the perfect complimentary colour to the Autumn/Winter wardrobe!

The photographs of the Pure Attraction collection do not always capture the sparkle that comes from deep within the silver, which is this jewellery’s unique and eye-catching attribute when caught in the light, so get in store and try some on – you will not be disappointed!

Both collections are also available on our website at https://www.fabulouscollections.co.uk/, where you can also read our Autumn catalogue for more 2012 new season trends!

Our Leamington store review the new Swarovski collection..!

One of our best-sellers, Swarovski, has brought out a new sparkling selection of jewellery, and it is more fabulous than ever! Alex from our Leamington Spa store reviews the new collection…!

Nirvana Petite Jet Hematite Ring, £100

Swarovski has always been seductive, sophisticated and supremely glamorous (perfect for fabulous!), and the new collection is no exception. Our particular favorite is the ‘Nirvana’ collection. An extremely popular range, (first launched in 1998), is a classic but unique, feminine design for the modern woman of today. It comes in many bright and vibrant colours, something to suit every occasion! The designs have an extraordinary crystal cut of 93 precisely arranged facets and most have matching set pieces, but also work just as well as standalone pieces.  A favourite here in store is the Jet Hematite Ring that is edgy in Silver and Jet Hematite stone. This is an elegant and bold piece of jewellery that will never go out of style!

Swarovski also have classic and timeless pieces, often with a modern twist. If you are after something completely different, why not pop into store and check out the ‘Several’ pendant and earrings set. Its unique, geometric shape is made up of circles – the symbol of infinity, and the beautiful mixed metal plating of gold, rose-gold and rhodium, flatters all kinds of skin types. The beautiful ‘Infinity’ set is a fantastic alternative to the traditional colours of Swarovski.

So next time you are wondering what to get to add some brilliance and sparkle into your wardrobe, check out the fabulous new Swarovski collections, in store and online at fabulous!

Bath Midnight Walk for Dorothy House Hospice

It’s been a fun and busy weekend for Jo and the fabulous team in Bath…!

On Saturday evening, Fabulous participated in the Midnight Walk, a 5 mile hike around the hilly streets of Bath, as a fundraiser for Dorothy House Hospice. 800 women join this fantastic event every year, to raise much-needed funds for the brilliant local hospice, Dorothy House. The Fabulous team wore pink flower garlands to show how ‘fabulous’ we are, and were joined by a number of customers and friends on the walk. Everyone doing the walk with us received a Nomination charm of a moon and stars, to represent ‘midnight’ and thank them for joining our team.

The event followed a very successful day with our ‘Tree of Life’ competition to celebrate last week’s opening of our Pandora Concept Store in Bath. The cherry blossom tree was erected for one day only, outside our Pandora store, and became a wishing tree for the day, as people wrote down the memorable moments in their life that they would like to celebrate on their Pandora bracelet. We are donating 50p for every entry to Dorothy House (up to a maximum of 500 entries), and we were absolutely delighted with the response from the public.

Phillippa Watson, lead fundraiser for Dorothy House, picked out our winners at midnight, pulling 3 lucky entries out at random, one winning £500 to spend on Pandora; while the two runners up each win £250!

Jo Stroud, owner of Fabulous, explains why Fabulous decided to support the Midnight Walk and Dorothy House, with both events:

“Dorothy House is a wonderful organisation, providing practical help, support and care to people diagnosed with life threatening illnesses, and to their families, right through from diagnosis to the final stage of an illness. The Midnight Walk is a demanding but fun event for women-only, which Dorothy House organises every year to raise much-needed funds, and we felt our customers and staff would all appreciate the opportunity to join in, to raise awareness and raise money. We also decided to dedicate our Pandora ‘Tree of Life’ to Dorothy House, donating 50p for every entry, as a Pandora bracelet commemorates special events and people in your life, and is a lovely way of remembering and celebrating a loved one who has passed away.”

More donations can be made to Dorothy House, at www.justgiving.com/dhhc

Ready for the 5 mile hike!
