Bering Watches – Time to care 2012

“When the pure, cool beauty of the Arctic is blended with the simple elegance of Danish design, a new era dawns: it’s Bering-Time.”
– Bering.

A new addition to the collections of our fabulous Danish watch designer Bering is now in store and has us all excited here at fabulous.

When Bering watches first came in, we loved the cool beauty and elegance of all the designs (with the sapphire glass and ceramic collection that are highly durable too – how could you go wrong?!) but it was what we came to call the ‘polar bear watches’ that captured our imagination the most and flew off the shelves to both staff and customers alike. There were only 2,000 of these original limited edition watches, made with beautiful black and white ceramic elements in a brilliant gold tone and matt IP gunmetal, where 100% of the net profit for every watch in the special edition collection went to Polar Bears International. So you can imagine how thrilled we were when Bering went one better and introduced their new slim ceramic and diamond ‘time to care selection’!

Bering has developed three exclusive watches; they are slim ceramic models with black or white ceramic elements in shining gold or silver tones. Scratch resistant sapphire glass ensures that time leaves no trace, while four diamonds give the watch unique radiance. So not only are they truly gorgeous watches but for every watch bought, the buyer helps to protect the lives of polar bears in the arctic.

This time, Bering is supporting the Polar Bears International‘s tracker programme in 2012 and adopting a female polar bear in Hudson Bay with 2 adorable cubs. She has been wearing a collar since September 2011 and this makes it possible to define her position precisely and to record important data. This is exactly the idea behind the tracker programme: the only way to implement targeted measures for these animals‘ protection is to know the habits and way of life of this threatened species.  Bering is set to do everything they can to protect this queen of the Arctic and her species, and now you can help too. Below are two further facts from Bering that describe what makes this watch truly special:

  • The watches are limited to 1,000 pieces and individually numbered.
  •  You can follow the journey of the  “BERING polar bear” and see exactly where she is and how many kilometers she has covered by following this link:
  • Once again 100 per cent of the profit from each special edition watch sold goes to Polar Bears International.

We hope you are as excited as we are to have these beautiful watches in store and we are proud to be able to support protecting the arctic polar bears here at fabulous!
